Denise has kindly added some words for us on how it feels to be so successful in the Nail Industry;
'Nails are my passion and I love being involved in the industry at many levels, and seeing the whole chain of the business from the fundamental work of the nail technician through to dealing with product companies, all the way through to distribution. Being an NSI Brand Ambassador is a privilege and an honour. I love a nice juicy problem to solve, it's what "makes me tick" and it's a great thing about my job. For example, I hear in the salon what kind of product my clients and nail techs are looking for, but there isn't anything currently on the market to meet their needs. So I rise to the challenge and meet with the development team to pass on that customer insight and work with them to develop a product that is at the "cutting edge" of nail technology and one that can fit into a company's existing product range and be distributed world wide.'
'My typical day depends upon where I am in the world. If in my salon then I will be "back to back" with appointments with my clients. If I am teaching, that's such a varied day as the topics I cover range from beginners to nail art. Equally I might be on the other side of the world as an NSI Educator in a classroom or even on stage in front of large groups of people with cameras and a sound team when making a nail education training video. If on the competition circuit, I will be hosting the competitions and ensuring its smooth running from start to finish, along with my team. So this includes facilitating the photographers to do their work, overseeing the competitors, making sure trophies and certificates are issues appropiately and presenting the awards themselves: generally making sure everyone and everything is in the right place at the right time! I also spend my time in the USA NSI head office where I love working in the lab with the research and development team on future products that are being developed.'
'I started off as a nail technician in a salon and from the passion and drive grew from this daily routine to owning my own salon and now travelling the world sharing my knowledge. I feel anyone can achieve recognition in their field and there are more avenues now than ever as a nail technician.'
'I am proud of what I have achieved and am humbled by the thanks I receive from the countries I visit. I am prouder of the nail technicians I have taught that have taken that knowledge and advice I've given and have furthered their careers as a result. As a natural teacher I never forget it's not about me its about them and that's the secret of my success.'
