NSI University - By Hazel Dixon
Here are a few words about the NSI Univeristy which was held at NSI HQ in the USA, all distributors & top NSI techs went to learn about new products & training, here is what Hazel said:
Nsi university 2014 was my first experience as a teacher for this type of education programme. I teach workshops on a weekly basis at my training academy but never on this scale. I was slightly nervous but also very excited about showing everyone all the new products and techniques. There were over 60 people from 14 different countries from around the world . Myself and Denise wright had put the education programme together ourselves and wanted to really push the technicians skills to another level. So instead of just showing the usual pink and white salon style enhancements and application techniques , we came up with a 4 day intensive training programme that covered hard gel, acrylic and the new secrets nail art range.
We showed all the students how to create a lot of all the new nail shapes like the edge, Russian almond and stiletto, although these style of shapes can be extreme we also showed them how they can be salon viable. As Im a nail art girl, The best day for me was day 3 where I showed everyone how to do art using the amazing new secrets range. They were shown simple and advanced one stroke, the new style of flat 3d and the fab new design gels. The secrets range I feel Is a great new addition to the nsi family of products as new techniques and styles of art have really taken off in the last few years. Me and Denise are very proud to be part of the development of this range and I'm very excited to say that in the coming months and years it will be getting bigger and better The last day of nsi university was spent showing all the techs a few new product lines that will be launched soon, everyone was so amazed with the products and it's a fantastic time for nsi with all the new developments.
Throughout the 4 days I spent everyday and evening networking with some amazing techs from around the world ! I can honestly say each and everyone of them is dedicated to the industry and their willingness to learn and grow is phenomenal. They all were totally inspired and they left wanting to practice and perfect everything we had shown them, That makes me feel very proud to be of this industry. At the end of each day every student had to sit a practical and written exam which on the last day those techs with the highest combined scores throughout the 4 days won awards for their skills.
We are already planning next years nsi university and I can't wait ! It's going to be one event not to miss!
